A slow, calm ride through the dunes and eucalyptus forest, followed by Moroccan tea. Children from about 4 can ride. The camel ride costs from €18. Read our camel ride guide for tips.

2. Crocoparc

Hundreds of Nile crocodiles, turtles and a beautiful botanical garden, with shaded paths that are easy with a pushchair. Plan 2 to 3 hours. Book the Crocoparc visit with transfer from €27.

3. Horse riding on the beach

Calm horses and patient guides make this a great first riding experience. Beginners are welcome. See horse riding in Agadir from €35.

6. The beach and the promenade

Agadir’s 10 km beach is wide and gently sloping, with lifeguards in the season. The seafront promenade has playgrounds, ice cream shops and space for bikes and scooters. It is free and children never get bored.

Activities for older children and teenagers

7. Sandboarding on the dunes

Kids and teens love sliding down the giant coastal dunes. It is easy, safe and very funny. Try the sandboarding session.

8. Quad or buggy as a passenger

Drivers must be 16 or older, but younger children can ride as passengers with a parent. A buggy has seat belts and a roll cage, so it is the best choice with children. Read our quad biking guide for age rules.

9. A boat trip with fishing

Catching a fish, swimming from the boat and eating a BBQ lunch at sea is a real adventure for children. Our boat trip includes life jackets. See our boat trips guide.

10. A cooking class

Children over 8 enjoy making their own tajine and learning to pour mint tea from high up. Book the cooking class from €30.

11. A pottery workshop

Shape and paint your own bowl and take it home as a souvenir. It is a calm, creative activity for a hot afternoon. See the pottery workshop.

12. The cable car to Agadir Oufella

Children love the ride up to the old kasbah and the view of the whole bay. Combine it with the cable car, Crocoparc and tree-climbing goats tour, a perfect family day.

Easy day trips with children

13. Paradise Valley

Natural pools, palm trees and short walks: it is a great half-day for active families. Choose a morning trip and bring water shoes. Read our Paradise Valley guide or book the half-day trip from €15.

14. The tree-climbing goats and argan oil

Seeing goats standing in trees is a moment children remember for years. Read our guide to the tree-climbing goats or book the goats and Crocoparc tour.

15. A Fantasia dinner show

Horse riders, music, costumes and dinner under tents: older children love the gunpowder “charge” of the riders. Note that it finishes late and can be loud for small children. See the Fantasia show.

Practical tips for families in Agadir

  • Plan short activities: one main activity a day, with time at the pool or beach, works best with young children.
  • Protect from the sun: hats, UV T-shirts and sun cream are essential all year.
  • Water and snacks: bring them on every trip; small shops can be far away in the countryside.
  • Car seats: tell us when you book if you need a child seat for transfers.
  • Food: Moroccan food is mild, not spicy. Children usually love chicken brochettes, couscous, msemen pancakes and fresh orange juice.
  • Health: pharmacies are everywhere and pharmacists are very helpful for small problems.

Where to stay in Agadir with children

Most families stay in the hotel zone along the beach, where large hotels have pools, kids’ clubs and direct beach access. Apartments with a kitchen are also easy to find and practical with young children. If you prefer a quieter place, Tamraght and Taghazout, 20 minutes north, have smaller family guesthouses. Our tours include pickup from all these areas.
