Temperatures are typical averages and can change from year to year. Inland areas such as Taroudant or the desert are much hotter in summer and colder at night in winter.
Spring (March to May): the best all-round season
Spring is our favourite season. The countryside is green after the winter rains, the rivers of the Atlas foothills have more water and the temperature is perfect for every activity. It is the best time for Paradise Valley, where the natural pools are fuller, and for the Tizgui Valley and Tafraoute trips. Easter holidays can be busy, so book early if you travel then.
Summer (June to August): beach and water sports
Summer is the high season. The city is lively, the beach is full and the sea is at its warmest, which makes it the best time for a boat trip, jet ski or scuba diving. Agadir rarely gets extremely hot thanks to the ocean breeze, but it can be very hot inland. Our advice:
- Choose morning or late-afternoon slots for quad, buggy and camel rides.
- Avoid long desert tours in July and August unless you are used to the heat.
- Expect some grey mornings in June and July: the sea mist usually burns off before lunch.
- Book popular activities a few days in advance.
Autumn (September to November): warm sea, fewer crowds
September and October are excellent months. The sea is at its warmest, the summer crowds have gone and the light is beautiful. Autumn is also the start of the desert season, when a Zagora or Merzouga tour becomes comfortable again. Read our guide to the desert tours from Agadir to choose the right one.
Winter (December to February): the winter sun destination
While most of Europe is cold, Agadir enjoys sunny days of around 20°C. You may not want to swim for long, but it is a great time for activities, sunbathing and day trips. The hot air balloon flies best in the calm, clear winter mornings, and day trips to Marrakech and Essaouira are pleasant for walking. Bring a warm jacket for the evenings, and check our guide to the Agadir to Marrakech day trip.
The best time for each activity

| Boat trips, diving, jet ski | May to October |
| Surfing near Taghazout | September to April for bigger waves; summer for beginners |
| Hot air balloon | October to May |
| Desert tours (Zagora, Merzouga, Chegaga) | October to April |
| Marrakech and Essaouira | October to May |
Ramadan and holidays: what changes?
During Ramadan, many Moroccans fast from sunrise to sunset. Tourist activities, hotels and restaurants in the hotel zone continue as normal, but some small cafés close during the day and the city becomes very lively in the evening. In 2027, Ramadan is expected around February and March (the dates move about 11 days earlier every year). It is a respectful time to visit: avoid eating or drinking in the street during the day in traditional areas.
The busiest periods are the European school holidays, Christmas and New Year, and the Moroccan summer holidays in July and August. If you travel then, book your activities in Agadir early.
When is Agadir cheapest?
Flights and hotels are usually cheapest in January (after New Year), from mid-May to June, and in November. Our activity prices stay the same all year, so you can plan your budget in advance. Read our list of the 25 best things to do in Agadir for ideas and prices, or follow our 3-day Agadir itinerary.
